Sully’s Obituary

Sullivan James Burd ~ 2.28.90 to 09.09.2010

Sullivan James “Sully” Burd passed away peacefully September 9, 2010 at Ralph Stover’s Park.

He was a man of nature, a barefoot mountain man, a climber, a man of rocks & trees, a seeker of truth and knowledge, of deep emotion and humble intelligence. He genuinely loved everyone he met, able to approach all with joy, passion and energy. He lived life fully with humor and honesty, living in the moment, giving & gentle to all. He opened his heart through his music, art and poetry.  As we mourn our  loss, we are thankful for what he taught each of us from his loving nature.

He is survived by his parents, Jessica & Glenn Burd, brother Julian of Pipersville, and sister Mariana Scheffler of Savannah, GA., his maternal uncles Myles Swift (Patricia) of Eugene, OR, Jay Swift (Carol) and cousin Seth of Middlefield, MA. Maternal aunts Ria Swift of Northampton, PA and Julianne Swift of Olympia, WA., cousin’s Adriano Swift of Lake Worth, FL and Ethan Swift of Portland, OR.  Paternal uncles Dennis Burd (Linda) of Plainwell, MI., David Burd (Jennie) of Naples, FL., Bruce Burd of Dublin, PA., aunt Liz McNenny of Acton, MA  and cousins Kerry, Matthew, Tighe, Aaron, Benjamin and Ethan, and a large circle of friends and family that he loved.

A memorial celebration of his life is planned for Wednesday, September 15 at 2 PM at Delaware Valley Volunteer Fire Company, 75 Headquarters Road, Erwinna, PA 18920.  In the spirit of Sullivan, the celebration will be outside, the dress is casual; tied dyed shirts and shoes optional.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Penn Foundation, c/o Sully, P.O. Box 32, Sellersville, PA 18960
